Moderate toast frames very ripe cassis and plumy/purple fruit aromas that also possess a superb range of spice nuances as well as intense floral notes that dissolve into rich, sweet and intense flavors that display serious size and weight while culminating in a hugely powerful finish that is perhaps the longest in the entire range. What I find so intriguing here though is not withstanding the stupendous size and weight, there is a delicacy that only great burgundy can achieve. Another 'wow' wine of immense potential.

Very good full red. Expressive, multidimensional nose combines red cherry, crushed raspberry, pungent minerality, smoked meat and flowers. Wonderfully suave and perfumed on the palate, with an almost magically light touch and great verve. The wine's mouthfilling volume without any impression of weight is uncanny. The tactile, aromatic and extremely long finish excites the taste buds. This wonderfully expressive and fresh wine is surprisingly complete and accessible today, but there's more to come. (ST)
