From Provence to Champagne: The Brothers Return
Pertois-Lebrun is the work of two dedicated brothers, Clement and Antoine. Raised in Provence, they were drawn to Champagne, where their family held an estate in Cramant. What drew them in? A shared desire for independence, a connection with nature, and the chance to maintain ties to the family estate their grandparents started in 1955.
This cuvée blends four distinct Grand Cru plots within the village of Cramant to showcase the delicate, creamy body typical of that specific village.
All About Chardonnay
At Pertois-Lebrun, Chardonnay is the foundation and the focus. Each harvest is guided by the vineyard itself, with parcels picked at optimal ripeness and vinified separately to preserve their individual character. Only the finest first-press juices are used, capturing purity, energy, and the chalk-driven precision that defines Chardonnay in the Côte des Blancs. In the cellar, the approach is not rushed. Seriously. Outside of their introductory cuvee, the l'Extravertie which is aged 2yr on the lees, these cuvees all age a minimum of seven years on their lees! Stainless steel and oak add dimension and preserve freshness, but never overshadows the fruit. Time does the real work here. Chardonnay can achieve so much when nothing is rushed.
