Join us as we explore the range of wines from Domaine Jean Michel Guillon. Jean-Michel Guillon and his son, Alexis, have built a reputation for their silky, ripe, and flavorful wines.
Domaine Jean-Michel Guillon has spent the last two decades steadily modernizing and refining its operations while maintaining a deep respect for Burgundian tradition. In 2009, the estate connected its two cellars to create a more welcoming tasting area clad in Burgundy stone. By 2018, the winery underwent a major modernization with the installation of new stainless steel vats, greatly improving working conditions. In 2021, sustainability efforts continued with the addition of a crate washing machine, ensuring containers returned to the vineyards clean and waste-free. The estate also took a pioneering environmental stance, earning the HVE level 3 certification in 2015 for reducing its carbon footprint and protecting the local ecosystem. It even installed a fast-charging station near the cellar to support electric and hybrid vehicle owners—part of a broader effort that includes videoconference tastings and transitioning away from diesel vehicles.
This commitment to progress is mirrored in the cellar, where innovation and precision define the estate's winemaking. Every cuvée—regardless of tier—is vinified with the same level of care. Jean-Michel Guillon’s belief echoes that of Henri Jayer, and their polished, flashy style has become a hallmark of the estate's style. Recognized as Winemaker of the Year by the Guide Hachette in 2020, Jean-Michel was praised for his ecological foresight and uncompromising craftsmanship. After 40 vintages, he is now handing over the reins to his son, Alexis, marking the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter for this highly respected Gevrey-Chambertin estate.
We will have the following wine open to taste.
