Round Table Tasting: Argiano

Join us for a special tasting with Argiano, one of Tuscany’s most historic and celebrated estates. Founded in 1580, Argiano’s Villa Bell’Aria (“Good Air Villa”) sits high in southwest Montalcino, where cooling sea breezes and limestone-rich soils shape elegant, terroir-driven wines. Today, under the leadership of CEO and winemaker Bernardino Sani, the estate combines centuries of tradition with a renewed focus on organic farming and meticulous craftsmanship.

Guests will have the opportunity to taste through Argiano’s bottlings, including their Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, the single-vineyard Brunello Vigna del Suolo, the iconic Super Tuscan Solengo, the fresh and vibrant Rosso di Montalcino, and the versatile Toscana IGT NC. 

Rosso di Montalcino
A fresh, juicy expression of Sangiovese made from declassified Brunello di Montalcino grapes. 100% Sangiovese from marl and limestone soils. Organic. Vines 12–22 years old. Aged for just a few months in large French and Slavonian casks.

Toscana IGT ‘Solengo’
The first Super Tuscan wine produced in Montalcino, originally made by the legendary oenologist Giacomo Tachis. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Sangiovese, and Merlot. Estate grown and organic. Vines 15–22 years old. Aged in new and used barriques.

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG
The winery’s benchmark expression, with an elegance that showcases Argiano’s unique terroir. 100% Sangiovese from marl and limestone soils. Estate grown and organic, at 270–320 meters above sea level. Aged in 10–50 hectoliter barrels for more than two years.

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Vigna del Suolo
Argiano’s top expression from a single, 4-hectare parcel on the estate. 100% Sangiovese. Organic. Vines 55–65 years old. Aged for more than two years in 15-hectoliter French and Slavonian casks. Fewer than 5,500 bottles produced.

Toscana IGT ‘NC’
Made in the Super Tuscan tradition, NC (short for the Latin phrase non confunditur, meaning “unique”) is a versatile blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sangiovese. Organic. Aged for just a few months in second and third-use barriques.

The tasting will be guided by McKenna Cassidy, Sr. Market Development Manager for Lux Wines. McKenna is a Certified Sommelier (CMS-A), a Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW), and an Italian Wine Ambassador (IWA) through the prestigious Vinitaly International Academy. She brings a wealth of experience from Napa Valley—zwhere she worked with Louis M. Martini, Orin Swift, and William Hill Estate—to her current role representing an exceptional portfolio of family-owned, sustainable wineries. Beyond her day-to-day work, McKenna contributes regularly to the Italian Wine Podcast in its “Next Generation” segment, sharing stories of the people shaping the future of Italian wine.
