The idea for a non-alcoholic Negroni took root in 2019, after a visit to Bar Convent Berlin, where the team noticed a surge of interest in alcohol-free drinking. Rather than attempt to reproduce gin, vermouth, and amaro individually, they chose to focus on structure—creating a complex, layered blend of 33 botanicals that captured the balance, bitterness, and aromatics of the classic cocktail.
After several years of development, the Phony Negroni launched in 2022 to immediate acclaim. Its signature glass bottle—small, angular, and served unopened with a glass on the side—became instantly recognizable. The design serves both function and symbolism: it signals that the drink is truly alcohol-free while preserving the ritual and sophistication of a crafted cocktail.
