The Clair's portion of Bonnes-Mares is uniquely situated entirely in Morey-St.-Denis next to the Grand Cru Clos de Tart. This 1.64-hectare parcel is defined by its southeast-facing exposure and an average altitude of 280 meters. The terroir features distinctive white limestone soils which provide a unique mineral foundation for vines planted in 1942, 1962, 1978, and 1980. The winemaking mirrors the high standards of the domaine, utilizing 30–50% whole cluster fermentation with ambient yeasts. The wine is aged for 18–20 months in oak barrels (roughly 45% new), resulting in a concentrated yet elegant profile.
