From old vines planted in 1948 just above La Tâche, this east-facing Pinot Noir grows on steeper, poor marl soils at 320 meters. Partial whole-cluster fermentation and extended barrel aging yield a wine of structure, clarity, and minerality.

This is also quite floral in character with its elegant, airy and slightly spicier mix of both red and dark pinot fruit. The racy and strikingly well-detailed middle weight flavors once again brim with minerality that adds a sense of lift to the balanced, long and moderately compact finale where a subtle bitter pit fruit character eventually emerges.

The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Les Champs Perdrix has an open and generous bouquet, nicely poised, with light floral scents in the background. The palate is well balanced with chalky tannins, bright red fruit and a note of orange rind toward the finish. This has an easy-drinking personality.
