Domaine Francois Mikulski will always evoke strong emotions for us here at Knightsbridge. Our visit to the Domaine for the first time was shamefully late. We visited to taste the 2021s out of barrel. It was eye-opening. While we’ve long enjoyed these wines, Mikulski’s 2021s captivated us, igniting an even deeper inner fandom. It was confirmed, this address is an ascending Domaine in Meursault and their 2023s are fantastic across the whole range
Our visit cemented is that the wines here are fantastic. There's precision, the wines are vibrant with acidity, minerality and site definition but there's also generosity that so famously calls to their Meursault roots.
Thomas Boccon, who led us through the Domaine's wines, told us about their commitment "to make wines that represent the Domaine and the terroir." and "The importance of working with acidity."
Burghound: 91-93 Points
There is a background whiff of phenolic character (think olive oil nuances) to the ripe aromas of various white-fleshed fruit, citrus and a range of spice elements. There is notably better volume and power to the bigger-bodied flavors that deliver excellent length on the balanced and lighter bitter citrus-tinged finish. As one would reasonably expect from a typical Poruzots, this is compact and built-to-age.
