Sourced from 40+ year-old vines in Chambolle-Musigny, Bussieres, is just downslope from the legendary Grand Cru Bonnes Mares and adjacent to the esteemed Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru “Sentiers.” This wine, like many from Morey-Saint-Denis is a hidden treasure. The vineyard’s heavier clay soils contribute to its richness and structure, enhancing the wine’s depth and complexity. Crafted by Gérard Raphet and his daughter, Marion—who quietly produce some of the most elegant and refined wines in the region despite neither having a formal viticultural education. The Raphets hand-harvest and ferment with indigenous yeasts, it is aged for 18 months in older French oak barrels before being bottled unfined and unfiltered, preserving its purity and sense of place.
The Chambolle Bussieres is ripe, concentrated, and deeply expressive, with aromas of pomegranate jam, raspberry, and baking spices. On the palate, its suave tannins and layered texture highlight flavors of black cherry, summer berries, and mineral notes, all leading to a long, complex finish
