Reliquus is a Cabernet Sauvignon crafted by Grace Family Vineyards. It is an amalgam of fruit from their esteemed estate vineyards in Napa Valley. Reliquus is designed to showcase the character of each vintage versus their individual sites while offering a more approachable expression of the winery's renowned terroirs.
As mentioned above, this wine incorporates grapes from the Grace Family Estate Vineyard in St. Helena, known for its red, rocky soils and the proprietary Grace clone of Cabernet Sauvignon. This vineyard contributes structure and complexity to the blend. The Cornelius Grove Vineyard, situated in the hillsides west of St. Helena, adds depth with its diverse soils and microclimates, imparting notes of red and blue fruits, dried herbs, and floral elements. The Blank Vineyard, located in Rutherford, offers blue fruit-driven characteristics and a soft, velvety texture, enhancing the wine's accessibility and roundness.

A juicy and savory red with plum, currant and spice aromas and flavors and some graphite and white pepper character. Medium- to full-bodied with chewy yet polished sense and depth, Crunchy and flavorful. Used to be Blank from Grace Family Vineyards. Better in a few years but already delicious. Drink or hold.

The second wine of the estate, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Reliquus (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) tastes like a mini-Grace family with its darker currant bud, iron, brambly garrigue, and tobacco-like aromas and flavors. It's softer than the Grand Vin, has medium to full-bodied richness, velvety tannins, and outstanding length. All Cabernet Sauvignon aged 21 months in 70% new oak, I d be thrilled to drink a bottle anytime over the coming 15 years.
