What’s unique about the vineyard at Pride Mountain Vineyards is its location. The vines receive roughly 27% more ultraviolet light compared to vines in level vineyards on the surrounding valley floors. Having more light on the grapes results in tannin and phenolic anti-oxidant levels in their red grapes at harvest that are almost 25% higher in tannin and phenolic development than red grapes in the valley. This is the main contributor to the broad-shouldered “mountain character” the wines have.
