Since its inception, the RouteStock Pinot Noir has drawn from two consistent vineyard sources—one in the Petaluma Gap AVA and another just 1.5 miles from the coast. Beginning with the 2021 vintage, the blend now includes approximately 40% fruit from RouteStock’s estate vineyard in the Sebastopol Hills of the Russian River Valley, adding a new layer of complexity and deepening the flavor while still maintaining the balance and vibrancy established by the original sources. For those of you wondering why, if they’re including fruit from the Russian River Valley AVA, can they still claim Sonoma Coast AVA on the label? The answer is that Sonoma’s AVAs are patchworked together and often overlap each other.
