ADAMVS (pronounced adamus) is a 28 acre estate on Napa Valley's legendary terroir for Cabernet Sauvignon, Howell Mountain. The ADAMVS vineyards share a border with Dunn Vineyards and were planted between 1,500-2,000 feet in elevation. Their oldest vines are 26 years old, cuttings from famed Martha's Vineyard but, there are eight other clones planted on site. Each block goes into the Termes blend to produce a pure and polished wine that showcases their unique terroir.
Owners Denise and Stephen Adams apply a unique perspective to this Californian winery as owners of two right bank Bordeaux estates; Chateau Fonplegade in St. Emillion and l'Enclos in Pomerol. Though Adamvs' wines are mostly Cabernet Sauvignon from Howell Mountain, an area known for intensity, theirs are uniquely pure as well.
Wine Advocate: 95 Points
Composed of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Merlot from the estate’s Howell Mountain holdings and vineyards in Oakville, Rutherford and Mt. Veeder, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Téres (around 1,400 cases produced) possesses amazing purity as well as dense blueberry and blackberry fruit intermixed with acacia flowers, new oak, graphite and a haunting floral note. Full-bodied, opulent and majestic, it should drink well for 15-20 years.
