Weingut Leth, a family estate in Fels am Wagram founded in the early 1960s, has been guided by three generations of the Leth family with a shared focus on expressing the character of their region. Members of Traditionsweingüter Österreich, the family farms sustainably and organically, working loess-rich hillside vineyards ideal for their grapes. These deep, windblown soils—layered with clay, sand, and limestone—allow vines to root deeply, drawing complexity and balance from the land while benefiting from the region’s wide day-night temperature swings.
This Roter Veltliner comes from terraced loess vineyards and is hand-harvested with strict selection, seeing brief skin contact before fermenting in stainless steel to preserve purity and freshness. The wine opens with subtle aromas of red apple and sweet melon, followed by a juicy mix of tropical fruit on the palate, framed by bright acidity and a gentle touch of sweetness. A creamy spice note carries through the finish, making this a polished, expressive example of Wagram’s signature grape.
