Now a decade+ old this 2nd growth Margaux is really hitting its stride.
We are very excited about its drinking potential at this moment! It is perfectly aged and priced to enjoy. The wine offers a crisp red currant and cranberry nose laced with tobacco, cedar, and chalk. The palate is well-defined and beautifully balanced, delivering crisp acidity and fine tannin. Unashamedly taut and linear, it displays commendable energy on the mineral-driven finish. The blend consists of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc.
Brane-Cantenac, under the guidance of Henri Lurton, is driven by a singular vision: to craft the greatest wine possible from one of Bordeaux's finest terroirs.The exceptional soils at Brane-Cantenac are characterized by a sandy surface layer covered with large gravel stones and a deep subsoil rich in clay. This unique composition ensures optimal water retention and release, providing stability throughout the year. The vineyard team meticulously monitors grape maturity, relying on their palates to determine the perfect harvest moment. Grapes are carefully transported to the winery in specialized trailers, sorted by hand and an optical-sorting machine to ensure only the best berries are used in winemaking.
