Anchored by vines first planted in 1902, this east-facing 1er Cru Les Hauts Jarrons parcel delivers density and poise. Stony clay soils, measured whole-cluster use, and long élevage in barrel shape a Pinot Noir of depth and structure.
Wine Advocate: 92-94 Points
Aromas of raspberries, violets, rose petals and spices introduce the 2023 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru La Dominode, a medium to full-bodied, supple and succulent wine that's deep, seamless and suave, with ripe tannins, lively acids and a long, expansive finish. It's worth a special effort to seek out.
Vinous Media: 91-93 Points
The 2023 Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Jarrons 1er Cru has a little more nuance and mineralité compared to the La Dominode, with light floral scents emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied, taut and fresh, with finely chiseled tannins and a little more persistence toward the finish. This is a delightful, well-crafted Savigny to enjoy over the next decade.
Burghound: 91-93 Points
Here too the cool, pure and airy nose is comprised by the essence of plum cut with hints of spice and rose petal trimmed in just enough wood to notice. The middle weight flavors possess a velvety mouthfeel along with more evident minerality on the firmer, serious and built-to-age finale. This is almost always excellent and 2023 will be no exception.
