Domaine Denis Bachelet is a micro-producer in the truest sense, working with just under 4 hectares of vines—a scale that is minuscule, even by Burgundian standards. Despite the limited production, Denis Bachelet’s wines are highly prized by enthusiasts and adored by us for their elegance and finesse. Any serious discussion of great Village Gevrey-Chambertin would be incomplete without mentioning his Domaine.
The 2022 vintage, described by Denis as a classic style reminiscent of his 2019 effort. His 2022s are lucid, offering a clear representation of their terroir and vintage.
As always, his Village Gevrey-Chambertin is his calling card. Sourced from 1.23 hectares of old vines planted in 1932 and 1937 across several vineyards—Champerrier, Derée, La Justice, Sylvie, La Burie, and La Platière. He describes this effort as having "Finesse, elegance and sucrosity without sugar."
