Mariano Buglioni had the perfect name for this wine—until he discovered it was already taken. Undeterred, he named it (I’M) Perfetto, a nod to a perfect wine with an imperfect name. Made from 100% estate fruit in Valpolicella Classico, the organically certified vineyards sit at 495ft, with dark, clay-rich soils and high gravel content. Grapes are hand-harvested, with most pressed immediately and a small portion dried for added depth.
The Buglioni family represents the new wave of Valpolicella. When Alfredo Buglioni purchased his hillside villa in 1993, winemaking was not yet in the family’s plans. But the potential of the land was undeniable. Trading grapes for knowledge, Alfredo and his son Mariano learned the craft firsthand, and by 2000, they released their first vintage. Today, with 153 acres of certified organic vineyards, Buglioni is redefining Valpolicella Classico, bridging tradition with a fresh, modern approach that highlights the elegance and vibrancy of the region’s terroir.
